I could hear Jason's heavy breathing as we sliced through the jungle, the thick dense foilage aggresively parting and we running like the devil was behind us. In fact, he was.
Nothing could have prepared us for what was happening now . Michael, Jessica, Curt and Nancy had all been seperated and heaven only knew if we would ever make contact with them again.Yet all I could think of was putting as much distance between me and whatever it was that was chasing us in the jungle.
"You scared of the boogie man?" joked Michael, cause legend as it that some time.....''
"Why don't you cut out the wise cracks" yelled Nancy, you know how Jessica is about these spooky stories and just one hint of your legend story and all my attempts at convincing her to go on this cruise are up in smoke."
"If there is something wrong with the boat you better tell me now" exclaimed Jessica. Nancy's eyes darted in my direction as though she had sounded a silent alarm that only the two of us could hear.
"John was just saying how far we have come since liners cruised the oceans , right John?" To avoid complicating the matter with too much detail I humbly concurred with Nancy as convincingly as I could.
"Michael, you finished packing yet," I asked. "We need to get to the docks at least an hour before departure and Jason asked to pick him up from his aparment
I was certainly looking forward to this weekend island cruise. No city lights, no cars, no concrete sidewalks just the natural serene beauty untouched by man 's untamed hand.
