Congratulations! I apologize for not being able to judge this round. I've been putting in 90+ hour weeks due to some last minute orders at work! I'll be back to judging this next round though! |

Thank you theblackhand and expressionarchitect! Thank you everyone else and esteemed judges for looking past the technical errors to the heart of what I was trying to do. I was surprised at how elated I was when I saw that I had won, especially since I was in third place on the contest page, and felt I probably rated 2nd at best. It was a wonderful surprise! Re-reading the first chapter I realized I had carried some of the original atmosphere established there by having less dialog. I hope that in addition to continuing the story and introducing plot twists, I also helped interject a sense of stylistic continuity from the first chapter. I look forward to reading all of the following chapters! |
